i dont think its not good to have been using a poraloo for 5 months because do they get clean weekly because other wise its un high genic .
i think some areas have been not fixed in the sewage because maybe they are worse and more fragile so if they try and fix them and there is another earthquake they might have to fix it again.
I would hate to share a toilet with people i do not know and to me portaloos stink

I think that they should have got on to that but some people are homeless and people need a home to live in. Also I think that the pipes are proberely broken so to fix one they have to fix they surrounding ones to.
I hate portaloos so if i was them I would talk to the counsil

Its very strange that people 5 months after the earthquake are still using portaloo's.They should some how get it fixed.If it means having to pay hunderds of dollars to get a new tank installed from what mother nature did thats what you would do right? then if i was the concil id be expecting many complant letters...
One of the reasons why some sewerage systems may not have been fixed yet may be because some places may still be recieving some after shocks. So why spend a lot of money just to find its recked again a few months later after paying it all off.Another simple reason why this may have occoured is because they will have to fix all of them which may take longer than expected with all the other damage that occourd...
I would abslutly hate having to use a portaloo for over 5 months because 1 they really smell 2 they a in a small box 3 they dont get cleaned and most of all what if they clog up and flood.eewwwww.....
Once again they should really start to work hard if they wanted a toilet in there house . I mean it cant really be that bad or they would already be doing something about it.This blog makes me gag but portaloos are gross.EEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A portaloo for OVER 5 MONTHS!!!!! Thats just stupid. Plus if you needed to go, on a rainy night you would get back into bed absolutly soaked because you obviosly wouldn't have it inside but maybe they haven't got around to fixing the sewerage yet because we had our house checked and now we have to wait something like thee years to get it fixed. I don't think its fair at all

It is not acceptable because the portaloos stink. It is hard to rebuild the toilets for each house so they have to put the portaloos there. They can't flush their toilets because the sewerage systems are broken. Portaloos use chemicals to get rid of the waste but have to be emptied every now and then. We feel the government is not helping us enough with the money.

I think it is not acceptable after 5 months for some citizens to still be using portaloos the government should do something about it. Plus who wants to go out of their homes in the middle of the night to go to the loo? I think that is just unacceptable and who wants a stinky toilet?

well i think that the Christchurch City Council are trying there best to fix the sewerage systems but as the earthquake caused so much damage it is going to take along time. My aunty lives in an area where there is lots of damage. she understands that it is going to take time and effort to fix all the damage. She still has portaloos in her area. Luckily she does not have to use the portloos anymore.

i think they should of fixed it by now but it is reasonable why thy have'nt fix them yet because there might be a aftershock and it might damage it so theres no point fixing it.i understand why you would'nt wont to use one beacase they stink there not really clean and when you need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night you would'nt wont to go out side and people would no when you go toilet.

I think that they should have real toilets by now after five months but it will take a long time to rebuild the toilets and the pipes underground. The portaloos will stink but they will have to deal with it until they do rebuild everything. By now they should of gotten use to it and they do replace the portaloos every once in a while. I would complain if I had to go to the toilet in a stinky portaloo for five months.

5 MONTHS AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE THAT IS JUST IS RIDICULOS .PEOPLE SHOULD NOT STILL BE USEING PORTALOOS I THINK IT SHOULD BE ALL FIXED UP BY NOW.MAYBE THE CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL JUST HAVENT GOTTEN AROUN TO FIXING UP ALL THE PIPES YET.BUT I PERSONLY THINK THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED IT ALL UP BY NOW IT HAZ BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE SOME PEOPLE HAVE USED THERE TOILET BUT IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FIXNOW THEY WILL HAVE TO WAIT EVEN LONGER TO USE THERE REAL TOILET AGAN

I think that it is not good enough because they've 5 months to fix them so i think the pm should do somthing about it

I think that they should fix the problems so that those people can use nice toilets. There quite dagerous because you could be using it while they are cleaning it!!!!!

I thihk 5 months is along time to still be using a portaloo.
If i had to use one all the time i would moan to my mum.
Maybe the council haven't fixed some areas as they need to fix the main pipe firt.

That is really gross . I am very sorry for those people especially people who have to walk to the end of really long driveways. Imagine if you had small or sick children who you had to take with you. That is one of the first things I would want fixed if I were them. 5months is way too long. But maybe they are seriously damaged and they don't have the money to fix them all at once.

I think this is bad becauce those people have to use a portaloos for five months.the pulmers need to do there jobs and fix the peoples toilets i would not want to use a portaloo for five months.

I think that it is ridiculious that they have over 500 portaloos in earthquake damaged suburbs.I think it is not acceptable that these people dont have working inside toilets and we are coming into winter.How much longer do these people have to wait.I hope the council clean this up.

it would be nice to have working toilets but the council doesnt have unlimited money and there are other things that need fixing.Its better having portaloos than nothing.Anyway some people dont even have houses to live in let alone portaloos.So how would YOU feel if you had to use a portaloo? upset that u had to go to the end of your driveway to get to the toilet OR lucky that u have a house?
